I could wax poetic about my philosophy of architecture or my creative vision, but that is not who I am as an architect. I am more the nuts-and-bolts variety, well-versed in the nitty-gritty of project management and producing a positive outcome through diligence and attention to detail. I understand the importance of developing solid client relationships through proactive communication and balancing the needs and wants with practicality. Experience has shown me that comprehensive, well-detailed documents, careful coordination with other disciplines, and strong respectful partnerships with contractors go a long way in ensuring a project comes in on schedule and on budget.
Balancing working from home with the schedule of a busy young family has expanded my abilities to manage my time and prioritize. Various volunteer roles from classroom helper and spelling mom to auction committee member have enhanced my communication skills, broadened my view of environment, and challenged me to be more flexible and responsive. Watching my children grow and thrive has inspired me to look for new opportunities to grow professionally.
